About AKF

Aaron K

OUR HISTORY

AaronKFoundation Project was founded in 2015 by Senait Abraha, a mother of a child who’s been diagnosed with cerebral palsy since birth.

Aaron was born in Eritrea and the lack of services for special needs children in Africa pushed Senait to travel to different parts of the world taking Aaron for his first diagnosis in China and different therapists, doctors and anything she could find that offered hope for Aaron before finally settling down in California.

Senait founded AaronKfoundation with her team members initially for the purpose of collecting money to get Aaron to Intensive therapy, result achieved with a fund raiser event in March 2015: the Independence Journey.

Now, after 14 years of struggle and focus on Aaron, Senait realized that Aaron lives in the best country in the world where a lot of services for special needs children are available. Aaron is happy and he works hard in being the best version of himself.

From that realization came a wider scope to provide support for special needs children in Africa, and to empower African Immigrants who struggle with language and cultural barrier in Bay area to direct them to available resources that they need to care for their special needs children.

And that is how AaronKfoundation has come back with a greater vision of giving back to the community and with a plan of becoming a non-profit organization.
